These exercises are for the students of EM en CM (the execises for NT and NG are further down the page). Fill in the correct numbers and symbols, case-sensitive of course!
Student chosing NT or NG, you need to determine which kind of decay a certain isotope will undergo. For that, you'll need table 25A from the (upper classes) BINAS. Ask you teacher for a copy. Obviously, you'll get a copy on the test as well.
In this table, you can see a great many things about the isotopes. After the mass number you can see the atomic mass, prevalence in nature, halftime (more on the later) and which type of decay it will undergo. There will be a few type of decay that we won’t cover until in the upper classes, β+ and K-vangst for example.
In the next exercises, you need to determine the type of decay and fill in the particle that is emitted. Please write the particle on the second spot, just like the exercises for EM en CM. Not only is it customary to write the remaining atom first and the emitted particle second, the website is expecting it in order to check your answers.
Since you can't type an Alpha of Beta, just type a lower case a or b, when you leave the inputbox, the site will automatically replace it with the appropriate Greek letter. Don't write the little minus-sign on the top right (the charge).
